Okay, so today was the first time I heard of a cloche hat. I read it on my invoice and I actually thought it was spelt wrong. I decided to google it, yes 'google it' and found it was a type of hat! Did you know that? Or am I the only one in the dark?
'Cloche' is actually a french word that means 'bell'. The cloche hat is a fitted, bell-shaped hat for women that was invented by milliner Caroline Reboux in 1908, became especially popular during the 1920s, and continued to be commonly seen until about 1933. In the late 1980s, newly invented models of the cloche, such as Patrick Kelly's version with a buttoned brim, made a minor resurgence.
Angelina Jolie wore a cloche hat in the 2008 film Changeling, which was set in the late 1920s. I saw this picture and thought ahha! It does resemble a bell doesn't it?

Once you've enjoyed Christmas and new years, next special event to prepare for is..Valentines day! So, all you boys and men out there need to wake up your creative sides and impress your loved one. Every girl (almost!) loves to be pampered and felt loved. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to buy their love. There are many different ways including making a lovely breakfast in bed, a handmade card, decorating the bedroom, picking fresh flowers (from your own garden) or making a lovely dinner, setting a beautifully candlelit table and dressing up in your best clothes! Although, it has more emphasis on men, women should equally show their love too. Mind you, finding presents for men isn't easy and I'm sure a lot of you have 'been there, done that and got the t-shirt'. There is the usual watch, wallet, tie, socks, other pieces of clothing and not to mention all the gadgets out there that some men drool over. Personally, I find it quite hard so if you have any ideas then please tell me ;) Valentines day is day where you get to express your care and love but, and dare I say, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't show your love for one another every other day of your life. I guess Valentines day is just a reminder of the wonderful past, celebrating the beautiful present and looking forward to an amazing future.
At the end of the day, whether you actively celebrate Valentines day or take it as just another day you should always love and be loved. So, if you are interested in someone, get out there..show your love! Ask her/him out! Or make the day a very very special one by proposing ;)
Well, firstly what is a shaballa bracelet? Shamballa bracelets were inspired by a buddist theory based upon spiritual healing, success and happiness. They consist of round balls that are encrusted with crystals and carefully threaded on to a cord. Most bracelets have beads at the end of each end and a pull tie closure.
Looking back at the history of the word 'shamballa', it is in fact a name of a mythical kingdom hidden somewhere in Asia, widely believed in Tibeten Buddist tradition. Shamballa (or shambhala) gradually came to be seen as a Buddhist Pure Land, a fabulous kingdom whose reality is visionary or spiritual as much as physical or geographic. It was in this form that the Shambhala myth reached the West, where it influenced non-Buddhist as well as Buddhist spiritual seekers — and, to some extent, popular culture in general. The concept of the shamballa bracelet gives it a unique touch and sense of belonging to an acient tradition. The bracelets are now widely available in different colours, designs and stones.
